Hummingbirds is a creator platform purpose-built for brands that need real content, from real people, in the cities where they’re in retailers.

We activate everyday creators, our “hummingbirds” to generate authentic, localized user-generated content (UGC) that supports retailer visibility, drives social proof, and helps brand teams do more without adding to their plate. Our platform replaces high-cost influencer models with a scalable, turnkey solution for activating shoppers and collecting usable content across key markets.

Wrapping up 2025, we’ve generated millions of dollars in revenue, connected tens of thousands of creators with brands, and fostered authentic connections between those brands and local consumers who are excited to share, and support the brands they love!

Most importantly, we’ve helped democratize influence and know that people crave real recommendations from their friends. While influencers are amazing, we believe there’s also space for everyday people to share their favorite brands and secure collaborations, even without five-figure follower counts. At the heart of it all is our commitment to building stronger, more connected local communities, where everyone has a voice and a chance to make an impact.

Our Sales Team Composition

Our AE team consists of 5 stellar reps who exceeded their 2025 goals, and we’re hiring to keep up with the growing demand! Supported by our Inbound, SDR, and Partner teams, our reps are also exceptional prospectors who take charge of building their own pipelines and driving their success.

We operate lean, move fast, and are remote-first. While our HQ is in Des Moines, IA, the Sales team is fully distributed across Central, Eastern, and Atlantic time zones. Our reps also have the ability to travel throughout the year to key industry conferences -- not just to build pipeline and deepen relationships, but to represent Hummingbirds, stay familiar with the latest products from the most exciting CPG brands, and make sure our name shows up everywhere that matters!

This role is open to candidates across the US and Canada.

  • Develop and nurture a robust self-sourced pipeline.

  • Partner with the onboarding team to ensure smooth and successful handoffs and knowledge transfers for customers.

  • Make professional development a priority by staying informed through reading, podcasts, and learning from your team.

  • Leverage AI in your day-to-day to work smarter, not harder—and proactively look for ways to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and stay one step ahead.

  • Compete collaboratively – we value healthy competition and look for reps who want to win by being their best, not by seeing others lose.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience at a high-growth SaaS startup (Seed–Series A), ideally where reps are expected to close full-cycle deals with an average sales cycle < 30 days

    • Proven success in high-volume SMB sales —must be comfortable running point across a full pipeline of short-to-mid cycle deals

  • You’re a natural storyteller who can build trust quickly, connect brand goals to real-world solutions, and speak in buyer language, not just product jargon

  • You lead with curiosity and confidence while balancing thoughtfulness with urgency. You show buyers that you understand the retail and CPG world.

  • You have a track record of personal and professional excellence—and thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments where ambiguity is the norm and proactive reps rise to the top.

  • You’re structured, self-managed, and excellent at owning your pipeline from first touch to close

  • You actively explore how tools like AI can streamline your workflow, improve personalization, and help you operate at a higher level

Interview Process

We go through the same interview steps for all candidates to ensure equity in our hiring process. Our process is designed to learn as much about each candidate as possible, as well as to give candidates access to our team and learn about what it's like to be a team member at Hummingbirds. Topics will range from technical skills to problem-solving approaches and collaboration. 

Steps to Expect:

  1. Introductory Zoom call with a member of our hiring team

  2. First Interview with the hiring manager

  3. Panel interview (presentation style) with members of the Sales and Leadership team

  4. Mutual reference checks to ensure alignment on both sides

Pay and Benefits

  • The compensation range for this role is USD $150,000 - $170,000 on-Target Earnings (base + variable bonus)

    • High-impact commission structure with no cap—earn more as you exceed targets and close strategic deals
